Busy few days
Went to a new lake on Monday of this week, and violated one of the cardinal rules of fishing big rivers.  Check the flows before you go!
My wife, son and I put in and the clarity of water was less than a foot, as the lake we were in was over 4 feet high.  We found carp in flooded timber, but could not get in quietly enough to do anything other than spook them and test the limits of how shallow we could get our boat in there.  But, we marked a few new spots, saw some nice fish (including a monster gar!) and enjoyed being outside on a rare day off.
We should finally have Uncommon Carp T-shirts in the store in the next few days.  Baseball hats are in in khaki and putty, look for more colors soon!
We also just got our UCC fly boxes in.  These are some of the absolute best slit foam boxes we have found.  Check them out in the store.
Fish are spawning here pretty well, and we should be able to get out a bit this weekend and do some fruitful carpin.  It has been a while since we have landed anything but juvies.  Best of luck out there as carp season is on us full swing!
